Mersive Technologies and INRange Systems, Inc. join Google, Yahoo!, Twitter, and YouTube as recipients of innovation award
Mersive Technologies, a leading display technology company, and INRange Systems, Inc., the developer and supplier of EMMA®, the first and only FDA cleared device for Remote Medication Management, are honored among this year's most promising private technology ventures in North America.
The Red Herring editorial team used an intensely competitive process to evaluate the most innovative companies from a pool of 1,200, selecting only 100 winners. Award-winning companies were evaluated on both quantitative and qualitative criteria, such as financial performance, technology innovation, quality of management, execution of strategy, and integration into their ecosystem.
"This year was especially difficult," said Alex Vieux, Publisher and CEO of Red Herring. "There were so many great companies producing really innovative and amazing products that we had a difficult time selecting the final 100. We know that this year's crop will grow into some amazing companies that are sure to go far."
Red Herring is a global media company uniting the world's best high technology innovators, venture investors and business decision makers in a variety of forums: a leading innovation magazine; an online daily technology news service; technology newsletters, and major events for technology leaders around the globe. "We are pleased to be recognized by Red Herring Magazine as a winner of this prestigious award," said Randall Stevens, CEO of Mersive. "Since the company's inception in 2004, we have developed a strong intellectual and innovative heritage. Mersive was the first company to fully productize its auto-alignment technology, and as the company expands and develops new solutions, we will enable the delivery of technology once considered only practical for select high capital industries for a range of applications from simulation to museum displays. The company is poised for success and being a winner of this prestigious award confirms that."
"Being recognized by Red Herring as one of their Top 100 North American Companies for 2009 was quite surprising," said Chris Bossi, President of INRange. "We are not located in Silicon Valley and we never expected to receive such a prestigious award. This award is a tribute to the staff at INRange and the vision of its founder, Dr. Mary Anne Papp."
The North America Red Herring 100 Awards received by Mersive Technologies and INRange Systems, Inc. follows the announcement in January that National Pasteurized Eggs (NPE), a leader in food safety, was recognized as one of the 2008 Red Herring Top 100 Global Companies. Acknowledged for its Davidson's Safest Choice® brand of pasteurized shell eggs, NPE was the only food service company recipient in 2008.
